Title: Rational points and Brauer-Manin obstruction
Abstract: This talk is a gentle introduction to the problem of determining the existence of rational points for a variety over a number field. The focus is on the Brauer-Manin obstruction method, exploring the main definitions, its limits and the important conjectures about it. If time permits, I will discuss the problem I am dealing with in my second mini-project supervised by Rachel Newton.
